The Format Mural
Format, Peel St
Adelaide based visual artist Kate Gagliardi has been given free reign to paint the front wall of Format art space with an image of her choice. The mural’s progress will be on show as painting continues over the course of the festival. This will be the first of a series of mural projects that Street Dreams is bringing to Adelaide during 2011.

THE STREET ART TOUR – FREE
Leaves Format at 5pm
Street art is everywhere but some of the best spots can be hard to find. Our guided tour of Adelaide street art takes in all the best nooks and crannies, alcoves and back alleys. With insights into the personalities behind the art and its rich history the street art tour is a great way for anyone to start discovering Adelaide’s street art.
THE DUMPSTER BIENNALE
Magazine Gallery, 6pm
30 Australian and international street artists have been invited to participate in this years exhibition of customised miniature wooden dumpsters. Ignored and abused, dumpsters are objects of the lowest value – but look again. Even a dumpster can be made unique and beautiful. Additional works will also be on display and all art works are for sale.
T-SHIRT PARTY – $5
Format, 8pm
One rule: wear a plain T-shirt because it’s going to get tagged, stencilled, drawn on, spraypainted and generally destroyed as alcohol and aerosol are mixed together into one amazing party. This fully licensed event features a solid line-up of Djs and never fails to go off.
SUNDAY 20TH FEBRUARY
WORKSHOPS – $15 BOOKED OUT!
Format, 3 – 7pm
Want to start making your own street art? Join our workshops to learn the tricks behind stencils, paste-ups and freehand aerosol from seasoned street artists.
$15 – buys you: 4 hours of workshops with all materials provided!
Update 09/02/2011 – Due to overwhelming demand, the workshops are now booked out. If you missed out, you can still pop in throughout the afternoon and observe, you just won’t be able to get your hands dirty…
OPEN AIR CINEMA – FREE
Beginning at Format, 8pm
Leaving Format at 8pm, our mobile projector unit will screen street art movies on a HUGE scale at our secret location in the city. Films to be screened include Banksy’s Exit Through The Gift Shop and the 1983 classic, Style Wars.
